Find Good Info
Okay I was in an accident. And it was my fault so I let the other person call their insurance company and give them my info. But this was like a week ago and my company still says there has been no claim reported. I thought that if it was your fault, you could just let the other person call their company, and that company would contact your insurance company… is this how im supposed to handle this? what should I do?
This is about reference of insurance questions information.

Ugh….
Call your insurer RIGHT NOW and report the claim. You have and obligation to report all accidents.

The other guys company isn’t going to contact your company until they are finished settling the claim and get a ’subrogation’ package together to send your company. Subrogation is just a fancy word for ‘bill’. They’ll send your company copies of the damage, copies of the estimate and a copy of the check they paid their customer along with a demand for payment. That can take a while. Call your company now and make the claim. If they receive a demand and you still haven’t opened a claim, you can be in trouble for not reporting this in a timely manner.
