They won’t be. The middle class will be fined. Which is ironic since he said he was FOR the working class during his campaign.

The poor will get it for free. The middle class will pay.

If you are very poor, you won’t have to pay at all. It will be free.
If you are middle class, then you pay. If you are rich you pay more.
Can you think of any other way it would work ?
If you have a better idea, that doesn’t involve the public pinning it’s hopes on the generosity of insurance companies, I would love to hear it.

You’re not even trying to get the facts straight, are you?
Just like right now the poorest people are eligible for Medicaid. It is free.
For low – earning workers the new bill will include tax rebates or assistance to help pay premiums.
Please only ask informed questions. This isn’t a newspaper, it’s a debate and discussion forum.

No. We need singe-payer. This bill is a handout to the private insurance industry and was always intended to be so. It’s too bad Obama has turned out to be so extremely right-wing.

The only thing that will force the poor to buy health insurance is their employer dropping them because the costs are out of control.
I guess the PO will wait til then. Too bad too, because the whole thing could have been prevented.

I have no clue why you think this.
If they do have to pay the liberals will cover it with some of your other tax dollars.

Terrible if their is no public option. Without the public option, the roughly 47 million un-insured would be forced to buy private insurance, which would just help subsidize private insurance companies. Basically, it would be like feeding the poor to corporate vampires.

they all know the powers that be will find a way to GIVE it to them. take from the middle to make the top money give to the bottom to buy a vote.

I think this is why 42% of the un-insured are against Obamacare bill. 3,800 a year fine is shocking! Even if you don’t have car insurance its like 500 bucks for a fine. What if a entire family don’t have insurance- wonder if that would be for each person? This govt sucks so bad!
I just saw Barbara Boxer speak= I think she’s on coke or something- she had sunglasses on and sounded like Marilyn Monroe drunk.

yea I know… I would almost take a free public option than be forced to buy insurance I dont want or have to pay a fine.
I think its just that tho. its retaliation against oposition to the goverment option. What the idiot Liberals do not realise is that its there coveted base of poverty stricken minorities that will suffer from this. Not working class Americans who they think they are lashing out against.
Liberals are not Democrats in my eyes. Democrats are good people who care about everyone regardless of color or financial status. Liberals on the other hand are extreme radicals with a much deeper agenda. When that Agenda takes hold, Even the base of the Democrat party will be begging to have the freedoms back that they lose.

It is an excellent idea, those who cannot afford it will be given tax credits to cover the cost. We already pay for the poor to have health care. The difference is it will be much cheaper to pay for insurance than to constantly be paying for ER visits.

The way HR3200 is written, the middle class will have to pay for the poor’s medical needs.

It has been proposed that people who earn less than a pre-defined income will either receive tax credits and/or “hardship” discounts. The poorest of our poor will likely get it for free…that’s what makes this Country great is we care enough that we find ways to make it work for EVERYONE.
You do realize under NO PLAN (the GOP proposal/solution?) everybody pays more and more and more…for less and less and less. Tell me why you think this is fair?

Every year insurance premiums go up and payments to doctors go
down. Essentially consumers are paying a lot more for a lot less.
There are some plans out there with premiums and deductibles so high they’re useless unless you’re dying. At that point it is a “preexisting” condition. I’ve spoken to doctors about this. Hardly fair. That’s where the public option comes in.
Let’s be honest here Americans constantly want something for nothing.
Expensive military but no taxes, nice schools but no taxes, smooth roads but no taxes and then seemed surprised at a high deficit. California is a prime example. Feel free to pick up the tab. Furthermore without a public option nothing will change. Also where is the incentive to cure cancer or anything if companies can charge thousands monthly keeping people alive?
As cliched as it seems “Everyone wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to die”

Liberals don’t care about anyone but their own party. To them its liberal agenda first, America second.

Why should they NOT have to pay while we HAVE to pay? Makes no sense to me. They all afford the ciggaretts and beer.

Healthcare insurance is just part of a broader agenda and public concerns have very little influence on it’s adaptations.

This is going to be the straw that broke the camels back. It is going to push it over the top once and for all. It will be the end of the democratic party. The middle class has been hit too many times and now they’re not going to take it any longer. This isn’t about liberal changes to insure treatment for all, it’s about refilling the coffers after Obama has redistributed our wealth to his select few. It’s about a power grab by the liberals to ensure their continuance. But it’s going to back fire in their faces when they lose it all instead.

Haven’t your heard? The Sheriff of Nottingham has been named the new Health Reform czar……….
Let me clarify the situation with Medicaid. The states have had to cut back on Medicaid. More hard working poor (say, someone self employed like myself) are not being given Medicaid. I had Medicaid in Michigan and moved and was not approved in my new state ( many, many seriously ill people are in the same situation besides myself). I cannot afford health insurance and would not be considered by an insurance company because of 2 pre-existing conditions. As it is now, I have to pay for everything including very expensive medications and regular blood work which is ridiculously expensive too. Saying the poor get everything for free is just ignorant. Get your facts straight and let’s work on cutting the cost of health care by limiting outrageous malpractice suits and regulating insurance companies.
