I have become permanently disabled & can’t work. I have mortgage insurance but can’t seem to find anything about disability coverage.

Let me first say I am sorry to hear about your recent disability. Unfortunately, homeowners insurance was not designed to provide disability income, so, it is not covered. Disability insurance is totally separate. You can quote your insurance really fast on-line if you go to http://www.BrokerGopher.com. Hope this helps! God speed!

A word of warning. SS Disability is very difficult to qualify for. You will need to engage the services of someone who knows how to do this – usually a lawyer. They don’t get paid until you have been determined by SS to be disabled. The amount they get is regulated by law.

Private disability insurance has to be purchased before you are disabled. You wont get a policy after you are already disabled. It is separate from homeowners insurance.

No. Disability insurance is a separate type of insurance. You can apply for Social Security Disability.
