Auto insurance Claim?

My car got broken into in front of my house and stole all my stereo equipment. I called my insurance and the insurance adjuster came over and saw my car was broken into and keyed around the car. When he saw the car was keyed he questioned me and said, it doesnt say that on here on the report. My mother called it in since its on her insurance plan and said “the car was vandlised and they stole all the stereo equipment, she diddnt specifily say it was keyed. So the insurance guy said they will investigate? So i go to see the police report and it really only talks about the forced entry and what was stolen, nothing about the car being keyed. So at this point i dont know what to do? i dont want to get screwed? what should i do
oh yea my neighbor saw the guys standing in front of the car …she said it was about 4 of them..she thought their were my friends at 5 in the morning go figure. all that is in the police report

I think you have a problem. The adjuster obviously thinks that you have two separate, and different losses here, which would mean that 2 deductibles would apply. I can’t say I blame the guy. How likely is it that someone who wants to break into your car to steal your stereo system is going to waste time keying your car???

Honestly, I don’t know how this will turn out. Without actual proof that it all happened at the same time they could try to handle it as two separate losses, but common sense would tell you that it is more likely to be all one claim. Be prepared to call supervisors and up the chain of command if you feel strongly that it should be covered.

Just keep in mind that there are diffrent types of law/ insurance policies in diffrent countries for a varity of incidents .You can claim insurance depending upon the type of claim /policy you have ,such as theft ,burglary, fire .flood, earthquake etc.
Now have you insured your car with all the extra fittings such as stereo/music system etc .You can claim insurance in any case if it was theft/burglary irrespective of forced entry. subject to it being in your policy if not just forget it as it is a waste of time and energy. As you will not be able to convince the Agent as it is not properly entered in your policy document.
